Fitness Overview

Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind, and body. The Y is a place where you can work towards that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities. At the Y, it’s not about the activity you choose as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.

Boost energy levels and improve your mood for the day with strength training! Regular strength or resistance training helps prevent loss of lean muscle mass that comes with aging. It protects bone health, muscle mass and helps in weight management. Strength training helps boost your metabolism and helps boost your calorie burn during and after your workout.

This class is an excellent mix of weight training with just the right amount of cardio. Each station’s exercise is designed to focus on one main muscle group while also targeting
a secondary “helper” muscle. Exercises are modified to fit each individual’s level of strength training ability. As function and form are the key to any proper circuit-training exercise, the
instructor will guide and monitor you through each exercise.

If you're looking for a full-body workout in 45 minutes or less, circuit training does the job. After a short dynamic stretch, a circuit of exercises are performed that target the upper & lower body, core, cardio, balance, flexibility, and bone building using a variety of equipment and an interval timer. Modifications are provided for each exercise to allow members of various fitness levels & ages to participate, but also allows options for members to take it to the NEXT LEVEL as the month progresses. The exercises change monthly to shake it up & challenge your body and mind. Feel free to drop in and do only one circuit to supplement your workout routine too.

Come join us for STREEETCH Class! Full Body Stretch uses movements to increase flexibility & target muscle tightness while improving balance & strengthening the core. During the first segment of the class, movements are performed in a standing position using the floor or wall. The second segment transitions to an exercise mat to work the core on the floor & continues to work on flexibility and tightness. The class ends with a final relaxation period & optional foam rolling. This is a great class for those who need an overall great stretch, but also for the athlete looking for an active recovery workout to improve their performance. Don't let stretching take a back seat to your exercise routine!

Bootcamp is a fun, high intensity workout class focusing on strength, cardio, muscle endurance, balance, and core work.
